Wedding Wall Gallery

The moment I spotted this image on Design*Sponge I was smitten. I’ve been searching for a unique and elegant way to display vintage wedding photos of my family. I love to look at the mid-century pictures of my grandmothers in their heirloom wedding gowns. I adore the retro seventies flare in my parents photo {I’m nearly positive my dad was wearing “platform” disco shoes}. Black and white makes even modern photos seem nostalgic.

However, finding a way to display all of my photos has been quite the challenge. So I’m planning to borrow the above idea of a square gallery. I’ll blow up the photos to the necessary size {I actually think a little pixelation will add character, if need be}. The square frames with the wide mattes are very modern. The symmetric gallery perfectly juxtaposes the antique photos. Looking forward to this project! {Already spotted these at Ikea and I’m ready to pounce}.

How do you like to hang vintage family photos?

p.s. Pardon our “display dust” on the blog the next few days, while we give papery & cakery the makeover it deserves.
