Swanks Giving: Martinis

Every good swanky party {especially Swanks Giving} needs a bar cart and a martini. Although I am a big fan of the martini, it’s usually stems from incessantly ordering them restaurants {preferably somewhere dark and chic}. But it’s never too late to learn how to make the perfect cocktail in the privacy of your own home, now is it?

Classic Martini

  • 1/2 oz. dry vermouth
  • 2.5 oz. gin
  • skewered olives

Rinse your  chilled martini glass with vermouth. {To easily chill your glass, fill with ice water and pour our right before use}. Pour vermouth into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.

Add the gin.

Shake gently {or swirl, depending on which school you prefer}. Pour into the chilled glass. Garnish with olives.

Dirty Martini {my absolute weakness}

  • 3 oz. vodka
  • 1/2 oz. olive juice {I prefer about 2 tbs. because I like it on the brinier side}
  • skewered olives {preferably stuffed with cheese}

Shake all ingredients with ice in your shaker.

Pour into a chilled glass.

Drink slowly or prepare for the consequences.

It’s five o’clock somewhere.
