Sometimes I found home decorating to be overwhelming. I’m not professionally trained, but I do know what I like. When I feel “defeated,” I try to focus on the small spaces and niches. It brings me comfort to be chic as well as sensible.

A bedside table is the perfect spot for peace of mind. Surround yourself with things that look great, but make sense as well. Here are a few of my favorites.

{alarm / lamp / charging station / coaster / notepad / hand cream}

An alarm clock is essential but retro makes it fun and playful as well. A chic lamp illuminates a good book at night. A charging station keeps messy cords and plugs hidden. Beautiful coasters keep your table from water marks. A witty tissue cover will make you smile. A notepad and pen help you jot down last minute thoughts before dozing off. Decadent hand cream is a before bedtime luxury.

In this case, it’s ok to sweat the small stuff.
