Cakery Friday: S’more Bars

This recipe goes against everything in my being. Then again so did this and this. But it’s okay. I can justify using boxed mixes as long as I am using them to make something outrageous. And that’s exactly what these are. OUTRAGEOUS. My good friend RoseAnn introduced me to this recipe for s’more bars. She did not disappoint. These s’more bars are ah-mazing. Walk Run to the grocery store and buy the ingredients. You need to make these now. Or even sooner. Like yesterday.

Gather all of the ingredients.

In a large bowl mix together 1 cup of melted butter with 1 cup of crushed graham crackers and 1 pouch of Betty Crocker sugar cookie mix. {I assume any brand would work – but I used Betty}.

Mix until all ingredients are coated in butter and transfer to an ungreased 9 x 13 inch pan.

Evenly distribute the crust into a thin layer. Bake at 375 degrees for 18 – 20 minutes.

Remove the hot dish from the oven and immediately sprinkle with 3 cups of chocolate chips. Allow to sit for 3 minutes.

Using a spatula, spread the chocolate over the crust. {Placing the chocolate on the hot crust will cause it to melt}

Set your oven to broil and sprinkle the chocolate with 4 1/2 cups of mini marshmallows. Place the top tray in your oven 5-6″ below the broiler. Broil for 20-30 seconds until the marshmallows are toasted. Be very careful – this happens quickly!

Remove the pan from oven and allow to cool completely. Cut into whatever shape you desire and enjoy!

Happy Baking!
