Raya + Masons Nursery

I know I have talked a big game about R + M’s nursery, and I finally have the photos to back it up {thanks to the amazing Shelley Armenio for everything!}.

So here goes… my biggest project and my biggest accomplishment {so far} in the new house!

Let’s start with my favorite thing: the giant photos of R + M that we blew up and framed above the cribs. Shelley took those when they were about 4 months old. I smile every single time I look at them. I can’t wait to stare at them forever. Literally.

The cribs are Oeuf classics in walnut. We bought them {and lots of other fun goodies} at Genius Jones {my favorite baby store} down in Miami. The bedding is Dwell Sutdio and we have ¬†sheets in lots of different patterns in brown and white. I’m a pattern junkie as you can probably tell. Sometimes the sheets are mismatched and I think I love that even more.

The rug is West Elm chevron and I think it pops on the dark bamboo floors against the pale aqua walls {Benjamin Moore AJ-84 is the original color, which we matched with a Sherwin Williams no VOC paint}.

Keep in mind that although we knew we were having two, we didn’t find out the genders, so “neutral/hip/chic” was the theme. I’m much more into contemporary designs and cleans lines than anything too baby-esque.

The changing table is Bellini with hardware from Anthropologie {I love changing pulls and knobs and Anthro is loaded was great ways to dress up furniture. NOTE: I’ll show you another use for Anthro hardware soon.}. I printed most of the graphic designs that are hanging in their room and bathroom. The giant scrabble letters were an etsy find, as is the whale tissue holder {which I think is hilarious}.

We have mobiles over the cribs {from pottery barn}, although it’s about time to say goodbye to them, since Mason can almost reach. The mobile above the changing table is the “black sheep” and is from Genius Jones. The pair mirror is Jonathan Adler {my style guru} and represents our “pair” of kiddos. While I think its adorable over the changing table, its kind of a constant reminder that I need to wear makeup {especially after the daylight saving fiasco. Apparently no one alerted my children about the whole extra hour to sleep in and all…}.

My other favorite item is definitely the xoxo pillow which is from PB Teen although I think has sadly been discontinued. It was one of the few things I actually purchased before R + M made their arrival, because I was obsessed with it {you know we have an “xoxo” thing on this blog}. {The fact that I was perusing Pottery Barn Teen and obsessing over xoxo pillows just proves that I had no idea that free time would become a figment of the past the second R + M arrived}.

Other awesome items inlcude: lot of piggy banks, Jonathan Adler daschund bookends, tons of great kids books {we love reading, or at least I do. I can recite “Goodnight Moon” and most of the Sandra Boynotn books by heart}, a Missoni for Target aqua chevron box {thanks Gavi for snagging it for us}, our baby announcement hung in four square frames in the entry, sleep sheep {a must have that I cannot imagine living without, we even have a mini travel version}, breathable bumpers, a tray from Papery & Cakery that holds tons of essentials, and eight framed postcards from a great paper store in Italy which I matted with cool papers in Ikea frames. And lots of other little things that I probably did not mention but if you want to know what they are just comment and ask and I’ll try {with what’s left of my memory} to answer.

I hope you enjoy. We are really thrilled with how everything turned out. I think R + M love being in there. At least they have not vocalized complaints about my design aesthetic yet. I am assuming that comes soon. Or at least by the teenage years.

Thanks Nicole! I created them. I’ve been making them for others and selling them also. All I need is the information and colors.

I love the alphabets above your changing tables. Did you make those or had them made?? What a beautiful nursery you have made for your children!

Absolutely stunning! You did an amazing job. Can I ask where the whale tissue box came from? It’s precious! (as is the rest of the room!)
