Cakery Friday: Kitchen Sink Cookies

I love the name of these cookies, because seriously, they can include everything BUT the kitchen sink. I made mine with pecans, almonds, chocolate chips, dried cranberries and a few M & M’s, but really, you can throw anything in ‘em! {maybe you even have some leftover halloween candy?!?!}

{I have no willpower}

Gather all of the ingredients {well this is all of my mix’ins but they’re more fun}

In the bowl of your electric mixer beat together 1 stick of unsalted butter {room temperature} with 1/2 cup of tightly packed brown sugar and 6 tablespoons of sugar until light and fluffy. Add in 1 large egg and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, beat to combine.

Slowly add in 1 cup and 1 tablespoon of all purpose flour, 3/4 teaspoon of baking powder and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Mix until just combined.

Finally, add in all of your mix’ins: I chose 1 cup of pecans, 1 cup of toasted almonds, 1/2 cup of M&M’s, 1/2 cup of dried cranberries and 2 cups of chocolate chips. Stir to combine.

Drop the dough onto baking sheets fitted with a Silpat mat and bake for 350 degrees F for 12-14 minutes, until the cookies are just slightly brown.

Enjoy with a big glass of milk!

Happy Baking.
