The Fork Goes On The Left {Thank You, Mom}

My mom has always taken pride in her table settings {we have blogged about them beforeĀ here}. When Syd from the Sweetest Occasion blogged a few weeks ago about How To Set A Formal Dinner Table, I couldn’t help but think of my mom {blade always facing in} and how her table’s always look impeccable {even with takeout food… obviously transfered out of their original containers}!

Here is a handy diagram of a formal place setting courtesy of The Sweetest Occasion

And here are a few of my favorite tables…

So beautiful!

Picture 1

A little less formal {and I just realized they totally have the fork and knife mixed up!}

Picture 2

Not exactly showing you cutlery, but I love this concept!

Picture 3

Forget setting the table at all with this ulta-modern joined cutlery!

Need a cheat sheet? These are so pretty!

Happy Table Setting!

  1. Bet you are just being shy…can’t imagine that that particular talent hasn’t rubbed off after years of sitting at table with the ‘artist’. Nanna was and Vima still is one fab table artist…am looking forward to seeing YOUR creative table settings! P
