Pick up is available {at no charge} in the Gramercy/Murray Hill area of NYC on December 9th, 16th and 23rd.

New York City Tips: Macbar and Little Cupcake Bakeshop

As if this blog was not already fabulous enough, we’ve decided to add a new category: New York City Tips.

My favorite thing to do in NYC is explore. I love going to museums, shopping, dining at new restaurants, seeing Broadway shows, and sampling the latest and greatest dessert trends {obviously}. So, why not share my findings with all of you?!

To start off, a few weeks ago I was on one of my regular explorations in Soho, when I came across the most delicious discovery: Macbar. You would never know from the outside the treasure which lies inside. Macbar is a macaroni and cheese restaurant, but on steroids. They serve up delectable creations including {but not limited to} margarita mac {think margarita pizza in mac and cheese form}, carbonara, and of course my personal favorite, mac shroom {I’m a sucker for anything truffle}. I highly recommend stopping in the next time you’re in the neighborhood. As an added bonus, they’re open till 2 am on the weekends!

Continue down Prince Street and you will hit Little Cupcake Bakeshop, an adorable new bakeshop specializing in cupcakes and an array of sweet treats. The shop is precious and very inviting. It’s the the perfect place to meet for a cup of coffee and scrumptious pastry.

Happy Birthday Mom!

Today is my fabulous, fantastic and fashionable mom’s birthday! She will likely be:

1. Angry at me for blogging about her birthday {although see mom, not mentioning your age}; and

2. Critical of the multiple spelling and grammatical errors in this post. {Mom, I am doing my best}.

It’s not only her birthday, but it’s also CYBER MONDAY. If you missed out on Black Friday and prefer to “shop” from the comfort of your own pajamas, then hop online and join the sales.

In honor of mom’s day, I thought I’d blog about a few of her favorite things which will likely be on sale on Cyber Monday {and if not, well, too bad}.

A. Citrus Smelling Perfume & Lotion

My love of lemon and grapefruit comes form my momma. She’s always loved the clean smell of citrus. Her favorites include Jo Malone Lime Basil and Mandarin or Grapefruit, L’Occitane Verbena & Annick Goutal Eau d’Hadrien.

B. Lip Balm

She’s a lip balm freak. Never leaves home without it. I’m addicted to Jo Malone but mom isn’t afraid of color. Lately she’s always with Trish McEvoy. Did you know Rosebud salve now comes in a TUBE? Amazing gift!

C. Shoes

She’s a total shoe freak and we aren’t talking sky high heels. Mom always scores the best and coolest pairs of flats. She has a bohemian chic style my sisters and I try endlessly to imitate {and usually fail}. She scored these Zanotti’s last year and I can’t stop myself from stealing them out of her closet.

D. All things Butterfly

She loves butterflies just like my grandmother did. We have a garden full of butterfly plants {milkweed attracts monarchs and we find caterpillars and cocoons all year long}! If it has a butterfly on it, odds are it will be perfect for mom! Just like this awesome stationery & labels on the e-store right now.
