Happy Fourth of July! Hope everyone has a great, delicious and safe weekend.
This ingenius cake is from I am Baker. If you feel like whipping this up and bringing it to my place on Sunday night I would love you forever {yes, that means you Leah}.
I am a total choc-aholic and have no will power when it comes to really good chocolate. So when I was recently directed to Chocri, a German chocolate company that launched in the US in January of 2010, I knew I was doomed! Chocri is focused on only using the finest ingredients {organic, fair trade chocolate from Belgium} and they donate a percentage of their revenues to DIV Kinder, an organization that supports children at the Ivory Coast {and they let you add an extra donation when you checkout}!
Here is how it works:
Pick your type of chocolate {white chocolate, milk chocolate, dark chocolate}
Add in your favorite toppings {they have over 100 varieties!}
fruits…
spices…
nuts…
confections…
decor…
and grains…
Give your bar a custom name, and VOILA….. have it delivered to your door in days!
If you aren’t feeling very creative, Chocri has a whole page of recommended creations.
…and best of all purchase 5 bars and get 1 free!
Now go to Chocri and place an order {and please send me one too!}
I’m not so sure I love the environmental impact of a balloon release party, but I am most definitely intrigued by Suzanne over at An Open Sketchbook and her 30th birthday. Years ago, Suzanne found a balloon with a note attached from another little girl seeking a pen pal. Fast-forward to now, when she decided to host her own balloon release in honor of her 30th birthday. Guests wrote hand written notes to the finder of the balloon making wishes.
Suzanne’s website was printed on the card, asking balloon-finders to report back. She has even had a few responses. The dramatic release of the balloons is definitely stunning. I love the idea of 30 wishes being spread anonymously…. Pay it forward.
