A: I got my head start in this industry 20 years ago dancing at Bar and Bat Mitzvahs. I was always intrigued with the events I performed at and always had my camera on hand to remember the ideas I picked up along the way. After retiring from the dancing end, I crossed over to the sales and coordination of events for a Los Angeles based gala award-winning company. I then headed South and started my own biz.
It is hard to sum up all I do, however, I will try my best! I am an event guru whose job is to execute what my client wants. I thrive on creating customized events that meet each clients individual needs and tastes and most importantly, their budget!
Q: What keeps you inspired?
A: Travel. I always take my summers off and travel the most I can to keep myself educated on the latest trends and get inspired. Sometimes just eating dinner in NYC at an amazing
restaurant can inspire me!
3. What is your favorite part about working on weddings/events?
A: That I’m part of the happiest day of someone’s life. This is the day that both the bride and groom always remember. Their wedding day!
I love that I am a part of that!
Q: What do you love about parties in South Florida? What do you love about living here?
A: I love that most of my weddings are destination weddings and people make an entire weekend out of it. 95% of my brides don’t live in South Florida, so I love that the wedding weekend becomes a full vacation filled with tons of Florida things to do!
Q: Why is it important/necessary to have an event planner?
A: Ask a bride that question when the power goes out in her room, and then she tears her dress, and Uncle Bob has no place to sit ….. and so on and so on and so on and so on.
Q: Describe one of your favorite events ever and why?
A: My favorite event is every event. Each and every one is successful in their own way. As long as I execute what the bride and groom want, it’s my favorite event!
Q: Who are your style icons?
A: Madonna, Madonna, and Madonna
Q: If you aren’t working on a big event on a Saturday night what would you ideally be doing?
A: Home with the hubby and the kids. Only problem is that I’m programed to be up until 4 A.M.!!!
Q: What accounts for your longevity in the industry?
A: I am not a girl who planned my own weddding and said, “wow, this is fun, i want to be a wedding planner.” I have over 20 years experience in this business and consider myself an expert on both running events and what it is that makes or breaks an event.
The timing of an event is CRUTIAL to it’s success. My longevity in this business is due to my knowledge and expertiece.
Q: What is your favorite trend in events today?
A: I am loving the simplicity of events today. I like that budget conscious people are eliminating the unncessessary items and throwing parties more tastefully. I can’t stand when people go too far over the top. Even budgetless events should have a budget. Everything should be in good taste. I love that the “bling” factor is gone. I love eco friendly statements like re-cycled papers, or instead of printing one menu per person, doing two for the table. I love the elimination of silly favors that people toss as soon as they get home. I love bride and grooms hooking up with charitable orginizations and giving donations as favors.
