As a pastry chef people are always asking me which dessert is my favorite to bake. The answer is quite easy: chocolate chip cookies. I have been making chocolate chip cookies since I was really young, and honestly, they never get boring. Everytime I venture back to South Florida the first thing my dad asks for are chocolate chip cookies. Usually, I can’t even get the dough out of the bowl onto the sheets before my family attacks. But when I’m not in the kitchen whipping up my own creations I love to enjoy these treats at Milk & Cookies!

Located in New York City’s Greenwich Village, just south of Bleeker off 7th Ave, this tiny bakery is makes a big statement. Cookies are baked fresh each and every day.

You can choose from a wide variety of flavors: from the classic chocolate chip to something more outrageous like a dark chocolate toffee or S’more. Be warned, the double chocolate mint was to die for!

They also offer specialty cookies like the peanut-butter cream, or dark chocolate-dipped coconut macaroons. They even have ice cream sandwiches! For you cookie haters, there are brownies, bars, and even rice krispie treats.

There’s a huge selection of specialty coffee drinks, and of course, old-fashioned milk in a bottle!

Milk & Cookies will also bake a delicious cookie cakes for your next event. You get to choose the flavor of cookie dough. Next the cookie is glazed in chocolate and decorated with chocolate curls. They will even personalize the cake with a hand piped message!

And for you canine companions, Milk and Cookies make dog bones with all natural ingredients like whole wheat flour, pumpkin puree and peanut butter!

Milk & Cookies also offers custom decorated cookies which are awesome for the holidays and as a party favors.

You can even host your next party at Milk & Cookies. One option is to choose a base dough, and let your guests make up to 12 cookies each with different mix-ins (like chocolate, nuts, coconut, dried fruit and even marshmallows). It’s sort of like an awesome Sundae Bar, but with a warm, freshly-baked cookie at the end!

There are also “Ice Cream Sandwich Bar” parties, tea parties, and cupcake decorating.

And the best news for New Yorkers…. they deliver!
But I have to say after sampling many of the delectable delicacies, the classic chocolate chip is still my favorite.

Happy eating!

xoxo,

Ali
