Labor day might be over, but here in Florida we’re on the cusp of some gorgeous pool weather. Aqua just happens to be my favorite color. Cole and I were even able to incorporate the pool into our wedding last year by holding our cocktail hour poolside.
Sure everyone loves a pool party, but here are a few more sophisticated ideas to dress up the water at a swanky event.
Martha accentuates the pool by surrounding it with columns of light and filling it with ethereal white beach balls (tied to the bottom with weights).
This beautiful photograph from Jeff Kolodny of Florida, taken at the Ritz Carlton, Palm Beach, features floating mini lamp votives.
Photographer Eric Hegwer captured a particularly lovely cluster of orange daisies floating at an Austin affair.
Preston Bailey’s at it again, this time with a gorgeous fountain overflowing with red and pink lush roses and petals. Simply stunning.

Set elegant floating lanterns surrounded by moss in the water, like this fete featured on Inside Weddings.
Scatter petals into a romantic pool to set a vintage and chic tone, similar to this wedding on Style Me Pretty.
