I’m so proud to announce that beginning tomorrow, papery & cakery’s blog will be featuring “Cakery Fridays” written by the one and only, Ali Kantor.
“Cakery” is a full service food blog, featuring sumptuous recipes, accompanied by guidance, advice and some spectacular photography. Ali is not only a talented pastry chef with a plethora of experience in the kitchen, but is also my amazing sister!
While attending University of Florida, Ali took Wilton cake decorating courses in Gainesville. After graduating with a major in finance and a minor in entrepreneurship, Ali attended culinary school at Johnson & Wales University in Miami and received a degree in baking & pastry. With a passion and love for all things cake, Ali moved to New York City and landed an internship with the elite and infamous New York cake decorator Ron Ben Israel, “America’s cake maestro.” Ali trained in decor skills such as fondant flower formation, and cake molding, structuring, doweling, stacking and delivery. She became a connoisseur of confections.
In a quest to discover more about the world of event planning, Ali then interned for the fun-filled, always fabulous Amy Atlas of Amy Atlas Events. Ali assisted in creating stylish dessert buffets through the detailed coordination of candies, pastries, fabrics, ribbons and florals. She contributed to the conceptual styling for multiple editorial photo shoots.
Ali is the director and writer of the Cakery blog. She is available nationwide for all things baking and pastry, along with recipe development, and food styling. She can be reached at ali@paperyandcakery.com.
xoxo,
Niki
