I’ve was recently in Cincinnati spending time with my family. It was not 95 degrees each morning by 10 AM, which was such a treat. I was so inspired by all of the nature. We saw a mama deer with two babies who were smaller than Ray, our golden retriever. Besides all of the family fun, I had the opportunity to meet with a few fabulous customers. One of the biggest hits of the trip was Smock’s spectacular Spencerian font.

Custom calligraphy is not just for envelopes and place cards these days. Many of papery & cakery’s papers utilize calligraphy which can be printed directly onto an invitation via jpg. Not only can our calligraphers create an entire custom invitation, but they can also design custom lettering, such as the bride & groom’s name or a fabulous monogram.  Papery & cakery can add these calligraphy touches and have them printed in letterpress, engraving, off-set or thermography. For some calligraphy inspiration check out these unique lettering styles from Jenna Hein, Laura Hooper, Sarah Hannah and Stephanie Barba and swoon!
A few of our lines even have their own custom calligraphy fonts.  Smock features Spencerian, which is an elegant and beautiful script, and Clermont, which has a charming and whimsical feel. Both are designed exclusively for Smock by Debi Zeinart of The Blooming Quill.  Check out the amazing invitation by Smock’s sister company Bella Figura, also created by Debi. I am in love with how the invitation flows diagonally, such a great twist! Mr. Boddington’s Studio also has a few fonts up its sleeve, such as the hand-crafted, embellished Henry script.
Whether you want to incorporate calligraphy details on the invitation or just on the envelope, these added touches make your invitation completely one of a kind.
xoxo,
Niki
