Back to the Beach

Just returned from an amazing vacation in Key West! Between the sunsets & my suntan it was completely fabulous!

It’s April which means the summer wedding season is upon us. Papery & Cakery has been planning some spectacular summer soirees. Here are some amazing invitations that would be perfect for any beach chic affair–from a casual and barefoot to black tie and formal.
Mr. Boddington’s beach set is inspiring, especially with the “event card,” which would be perfect for a destination wedding, listing all of the weekend’s events. Luscious Verde’s coral invite is simple yet elegant. Elum’s flip flop save the date really sets the tone for a seaside affair. Cheree Berry’s nautical invitation set is inspiring in navy, pink & sage green. Pica Press’ ornate yellow pattern is oh so inviting. Delphine’s hibiscus is simple and bold, yet stylish. Wiley Valentine’s mustard-tone coral is Caribbean cool! Real Card Studio’s “wed, sip, reply” cards are printed in fabulous beachy colors, making this a wedding I’d love to attend! Arabella’s floral logo carries into an intricate pattern on both the invite & the fold out. Louella’s “Caribbean Lace” is the same color as the ocean in Key West.
Can’t wait to get back to the beach!

March Madness!

March is over and gone and now so is the NCAA tournament and our annual party. This year’s NCAA party was candy themed. It featured a fabulous “sugar buffet” in bright pinks, oranges and yellows (thanks Ali!). I’m still dreaming about the colorful malt balls, jelly beans, pixie sticks, salt water taffy & rock candy. I can’t stop raving about the basketball brownie pops!!!! Yum!

The p&c; custom designed, flat printed invitations played off the “Sweet 16” theme, complete
with basketball suckers! They were just a preview of the delicious things to come.
Party Perfect of Boca provided life sized candy decor, created to match the invitations perfectly! Silver Sac catered the mouth-watering food. Wow!
The game definitely wasn’t the most exciting, but the food & decor more than made up for it. Congrats to the Tar Heels. Bye bye March Madness hello to April (Go Miami Heat)!

In the News!

Papery & Cakery is proud to be featured in this month’s issue of Bride’s Florida for a unique destination wedding invitation we created.

For this invite we used real photographs taken of Little Palm Island, where the small & intimate wedding took place. Vismara design used the photograph of the island as the lining for the fold out envelope. Other photos of the island were also featured in the reception card, rehearsal dinner and brunch inserts, thank you notes, gift tags, seating cards & the address seal on the envelope. This went way beyond setting the tone… it showed the guests an image of the tropical paradise they would be staying at for the entire wedding weekend of events!
Little Palm Island on Little Torch Key is an incredibly remote & romantic venue for a wedding. It’s only accessible by boat or seaplane. Guests stay in thatched roofed bungalows, many have private outdoor showers and tubs. For this particular wedding, the entire resort was occupied by wedding guests only. Talk about an intimate affair!
