When I met with Laura last fall, she had a definite aesthetic in mind. She loved Smock’s commitment to the environment and also their unique, contemporary letterpress designs. The invitation she chose, “Lashar,” is the perfect accept to the chic spring decor of the wedding. The design is blind embossed into Smock’s thick bamboo paper. The text is chocolate brown. The liner is a spring green pattern. The rounded edges added softness to the overall look. Laura was such a fabulous and fun bride to work with!
The photos of the wedding reflect Laura’s unique aesthetic and sense of design. The yellow fondant cake with tiny flowers, the poolside lanterns, Laura’s incredible hand-beaded dress…. all so fabulous! Images are by Janeth Castillo.
The invitations fit perfectly into the overall look and decor which is exactly what the invitation should do!
A few weeks ago, Cole & I traveled to New Orleans for my birthday and our anniversary. It was such an amazing weekend filled with lots of food, Mardi Gras parades & sightseeing.
I was struck by the beautiful wrought iron balconies that are so prevalent in the French Quarter. After the oysters, crawfish & beignets, the architecture of New Orleans was definitely my favorite part.
The wrought iron reminded me of many of the scrolling designs found on some gorgeous invitations. Here are a few faves from Wiley Valentine, Elum, Studio Olivine, Cat Seto, Delphine, Egg Press, Louella, Arabella, Smock & Pica Press. These invites range from weddings to showers to Bat Mitzvahs…
